Soliloquy Video Slider
Soliloquy is a very efficient slider, which allows for images as well as videos. In this case, we are presenting 18 YouTube videos on the page, split up among three dififerent containers.
Soliloquy Video Carousel
This uses the same slides and configuration as the previous video slider, except that we have now enabled the carousel feature. The settings are such that on a large screen, a maximum of 3 videos will appear on the screen, while on a small screen, a minimum of 2 will appear.
Soliloquy Video Carousel (no carousel on mobile)
This is the same configuration as the previous, except that on mobile, the "Carousel" feature is turned off. We think this is a bit better, because mobile phones are small, and there is hardly any room for allowing two videos to appear side by side -- without making it very uncomfortable to actually play the videos. On the negative side, when only 1 video is present in the assigned viewing area, the viewing area does not rescale and starts to look quite panoramic.
Soliloquy Video Verdict!
Considering the fact that this video slider enables you to watch YouTube videos on both PC and smartphone alike, and considering that it is fast loading (especially when combined with WP-Rocket's Lazy Load feature -- see below), we really like this video slider. Nevertheless, it does not resize as perfectly as the Envira Video Gallery does. Envira is a gallery, and not a slider, so if you want a slider, this is definitely a very good choice.
Note: Do not attempt to display the same YouTube video in more than one spot on the same page using Soliloquy. It is not designed for that, and you will find it glitching out on you if you do.
